What is the EU Data Act? The EU Data Act is an EU regulation that governs access to and use of data from connected products and related
services. It aims to give users more control over the data generated when using such products. For users, this means that the data generated and made available through the use of a connected product is to be
accessible and usable under certain conditions. At the same time, the EU Data Act takes into account the legitimate
interests of manufacturers, data protection, trade secrets as well as technical and legal frameworks.

Overview of connected GOK products
SmartBox AIR Wi-Fi – digital level monitoring for non-pressurised tanks The SmartBox AIR Wi-Fi is a battery-powered, electronic remote level gauge for non-pressurised tanks containing
liquid media. It measures the tank contents according to the pneumatic measuring principle and transmits the data to
the associated app via the local Wi-Fi network. This allows users to access information such as the filling level and battery status via an app; depending on the
individual settings, this data is updated hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. The tank contents can be displayed in
litres, percentage by volume or filling height in centimetres. Typical applications: fuel oil, diesel, HVO, rainwater, waste oil, vegetable oil and other
non-flammable liquid media. Relevant examples of data: filling level, free capacity display, battery status, device settings and

SmartBox systems – tank management and remote transmission for professional applications GOK’s SmartBox systems enable the monitoring of tank systems and consumer units both on-site and remotely. Depending
on the version, filling levels, critical conditions and system signals can be recorded and transmitted. The SmartBox 4 GSM PRO, for example, is an electronic remote level gauge with data transmitter for up to four
non-pressurised tanks with liquid operating media. The tank data can be transmitted via SMS to a mobile phone, via
e-mail – depending on the provider – or to the Internet database www.smart-inspector.com. Among other things, filling
levels, minimum filling levels, system malfunctions or leakage notifications can be monitored. Typical applications: tank systems and consumer units, multi-tank systems, fuel oil and fuel
management as well as commercial tank monitoring. Relevant data examples: filling level data, free capacity data, minimum filling levels, fault
notifications, leakage notifications, system statuses and transmitted measured values – provided these are technically

MOPEKA PRO filling level sensor for gas cylinders – ultrasonic level measurement with Bluetooth transmission The MOPEKA PRO filling level sensor is a digital ultrasonic level gauge for gas cylinders. It determines the filling
level using ultrasound and transmits the measurement and signalling data via Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet, to
the associated app or optionally to an LCD monitor. The content can be displayed in the app or on the monitor in kilogrammes and percentage by volume, for example. The
sensor is suitable for standard steel and aluminium gas cylinders up to a filling volume of 48 kg and is intended for
use in leisure vehicles, household applications or commercial facilities, among other things. Typical applications: gas cylinders in leisure vehicles, household applications and commercial

What data may be relevant in the context of the EU Data Act?
Depending on the product and configuration, different data can be generated when using connected GOK products. This
includes, in particular, technical measurement and status data, for example:

Frequently asked questions about the EU Data Act and GOK products
Does the EU Data Act apply to all GOK products? Not every product generates or transmits digital usage data. The EU Data Act is particularly relevant for connected
products and related services. Whether a specific GOK product is affected depends on its technical characteristics
and specific use.
What data can I request? In principle, data generated during the use of a connected product and that is technically available may be relevant.
For filling level and tank management products, this could include, for example, filling level, status or fault
notification data.
Do I have access to all internal system data? The EU Data Act regulates access to certain product-related data. Necessarily, this does not include all internal
technical information, trade secrets, security-relevant information or data that cannot be provided for technical or
legal reasons.
What is the difference between product data and personal data? Product data is generated by the use of a product, such as measurement or status values. Personal data refers to an
