Caramatic-Serie by GOK

The Caramatic series from GOK comprises components for the safe LPG supply in caravans, motorhomes, camper vans and – depending on the application – boats. These include single-cylinder systems, two-cylinder systems, safety gas pressure regulators, changeover systems, high-pressure hose assemblies, as well as a variety of connectors.

The series covers a range of applications: gas supply when stationary, gas supply while driving, operation with one gas cylinder, operation with two gas cylinders, and the replacement of existing regulator systems.

Special safety devices are required for the safe operation of gas appliances in a motorhome or caravan while driving. These generally include a gas pressure regulating system with a crash sensor, suitable high-pressure hose assemblies and an excess flow valve.

The crash sensor automatically shuts off the gas supply in the event of an accident or severe impact. The excess flow valve stops the gas flow if a high pressure hose assembly is damaged.

Multiple LPG cylinders can be operated using a two-cylinder system or an automatic changeover system. One gas cylinder serves as the service cylinder, while the second gas cylinder is used as the reserve cylinder.

When the service cylinder is empty, the system switches to the reserve cylinder either automatically or manually by controlled operation, depending on the system. This ensures a convenient and as uninterrupted as possible gas supply in a caravan, motorhome or boat.

The Caramatic BasicTwo is a two-cylinder system from GOK for operation with two LPG cylinders. One cylinder serves as the service cylinder, while the other acts as the reserve cylinder.

As soon as the service cylinder is empty, the gas supply can continue via the reserve cylinder. This increases convenience, as the gas cylinder does not have to be changed manually straight away.

Yes, the Caramatic BasicTwo can also be operated with just one LPG cylinder under certain conditions, including always using the central regulator for pressure regulation, setting the control knob to reserve, closing the gas cylinder valve and disconnecting the changeover regulator from the gas cylinder.

However, operation with only one gas cylinder does not provide the full convenience of a two-cylinder system. Automatic or convenient reserve supply is only available when two gas cylinders are connected.

Wear parts such as gas pressure regulators, changeover valves and hose assemblies must be replaced regularly in motorhomes and caravans. Replacement is important because ageing, wear and material fatigue can impair the safety of the gas system.

Many components are subject to specified service life or replacement intervals. In Germany, for example, these are 10 years from the component's date of manufacture. Components must also be replaced if they are damaged, porous, leaking, deformed or no longer approved for use.

Yes, products from the GOK Caramatic series can, depending on the existing system, be used as an alternative to the MonoControl CS or DuoControl CS of the manufacturer Truma. A key factor is whether a single-cylinder system or a two-cylinder system is required and whether gas appliances are to be operated while driving.

For replacement, technical requirements such as the connection type, operating pressure, installation situation, vehicle type and the required safety functions must be checked. The replacement must be carried out professionally and in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Depending on the application, Truma DuoControl and DuoComfort can be replaced by suitable products from the GOK Caramatic series. While the GOK Caramatic ProTwo is the equivalent of the Truma DuoControl, the Truma DuoComfort can be replaced by the Caramatic SwitchTwo.

These systems are primarily intended for operating the gas system while the leisure vehicle is stationary. If you also want to operate gas appliances while driving, you should look for the suffix "Drive" in the product name of the GOK Caramatic series.
